0NE My business, Internet and IT services business, johnwatkins.biz, grew out of the web design and hosting business Aurora Web Services, which I founded in 1996. That early Internet business was sold and transferred to PNC Telecom plc in 2002. For some of Aurora's local clients, I continue to provide bespoke design and technical services, and consultancy for their online and offline IT installations. These services include networking, email including anti-spam solutions, internet hosting, domain name hosting and DNS management, website design and e-commerce. I also offer some bespoke database design services using Microsoft Access. All Internet hosting solutions are ultimately provisioned from the data centres of ViaVerio and are monitored 24 x 365. I have been a partner with Verio, and or its subsidiaries Hiway Technologies and Rapidsite since 1996, and have provisioned services for in excess of three thousand websites through these companies over the last ten years. This page offers some samples of my web design work, which is usually the precursor for any additional technical services. I hold a B. Sc (Hons) in Naval Engineering. I have previously worked as an engineer officer in the Royal Navy Submarine Service and as a commercial hot air balloon pilot. For simplicity, all accounting for these services is now managed through my limited company Grakka Limited.
